Justin,

Whenever I have to do one coin routine and I have to really blow people away I either do Silver Dream or CoinOne. I was wondering if you have looked into CoinOne and what your thoughts on it were? Right now I have to say it's one of my fave coin effects. I understand you have seen Homer perform before. Just curious as to what you thiknk of the effect. As Homer performs it is is quick, visual and in-your-face. I feel it is very different from your own coin work which strikes me as more elegant and even beautiful at times. Just curious to know what your take is on the fantastic effect and if you have tried it out.

Thank you for the kind words on SD, it truly looks and feels like real magic.
I remember when I first read of the trick in Chris' magazine The Magic Man Examiner, back then it wad called four coins and a philipeno. I think Homer is in the top five of the most accomplished sleight of hand artist in the world..and CoinOne is no exception! I have always loved the routine but for my style I slow it down so each apperance and travel is CRYSTAL clear.. I also do a non-gimmicked one as well.
If you do nto have COINone...GET IT NOW you will not be sorry.

Thanks again for giving us these answers! What do you think is the most under-rated type of magic? I've asked a few people and had interesting answers. For example, Sean Fields doesn't believe there really is an under-rated form of magic which is fair enough. What about yourself?

Justin,

Congrats on getting the biggest Q&A session so far :)

Your answers are great.

Here are a few more questions for ya:

Do you prefer Coin effects or card effects more?

Impromptu Card magic or Gimmicked?

When practicing/creating, what type of area are you in? Do you use music at all? Silence?

What inspires you to create the things that you do?

Thanks!

Keenan

Hey Justin!
It was indeed the longest Q&A so far.. Thank you for taking the time, sitting and answering all those questions.

Here are some more questions for you:

1) You told earlier a little about The Cloak, now I've seen you have added a "coming soon" page on your site.
Could you elaborate a little on that?
Can you tell about the other 4 effects?
Can you name the price the DVD will cost? Will it come with all the accessories needed?

2) The TRIUNE coins are hand crafted by Jamie Schoolcraft.
How did you get to work with him on this project? How was it working with him? What did you expect the outcome to be? Was it better than you expected?

3) As being one of the persong who participated in the shooting of the new E Loops DVD, do you know anything about it that you can tell?
How is it doing? Do you know when they plan to release it?
What is on it? Anything interesting you can tell? :P

4) I have never seen you work with loops, but you did participated in the shooting of E's Loops DVD, also you have a loops workshop in your lectures.
Could you tell me a little about your work with loops?
What do you teach in your loops workshop?
What effects do you do with loops?
What loops do you use? do you make your own? what elastic thread do you use if so..?

5) What is your email? If I ever want to make contact with you, ask you something or anything alike, where to should I send emails? (in case you don't want to asnwer that one in public, PM me the answer if you can)

That's it for now, waiting to hear your answers... :)

ohh by the way, I've PMed you about the MARS convention with all the details regarding it, still waiting for you to reply.
I also talked with the organizer, and he should contact you about it.

Take care,
Ilya,

The type I find most underrated is table magic. That is why I have devoted the last half of my lecture to all table magic, sitting down, and lethal.

Justin,

Congrats on getting the biggest Q&A session so far

Your answers are great.

Here are a few more questions for ya:

I know crazy huh?

Do you prefer Coin effects or card effects more?

I have an equal love for both.

Impromptu Card magic or Gimmicked?
I believe that if you combine smooth as silk sleight of hand with gimmicks you have a bomb on your hands! its like having a gun but no bullett..does that make sence?

When practicing/creating, what type of area are you in? Do you use music at all? Silence?

Look back on page 4

What inspires you to create the things that you do?

Just living really. I am always facinated by what venues the ideas come from. Sometimes it is just a matter of seeing something that is not there, and sometimes I actually say "ok now I am going to do this with this...

Thanks!

Anytime bro.

It was my pleasure

Here are some more questions for you:

1) You told earlier a little about The Cloak, now I've seen you have added a "coming soon" page on your site.

All I can say is The Cloak is a revoultionary new e....... h...up that will take over the .h..... world!

Can you tell about the other 4 effects?
Can you name the price the DVD will cost? Will it come with all the accessories needed?

Stay tuned to http://www.closeupjm.com for details

2) The TRIUNE coins are hand crafted by Jamie Schoolcraft.
How did you get to work with him on this project?

I have been friends with Jamie for about 2 yrs now.

How was it working with him?

Great as always! He is THE BEST coin guy to go to BAR-NONE!!

3) As being one of the persong who participated in the shooting of the new E Loops DVD, do you know anything about it that you can tell?

veerrrryyyy soon

How is it doing? Do you know when they plan to release it?
What is on it? Anything interesting you can tell?

Loops :o

4) I have never seen you work with loops, but you did participated in the shooting of E's Loops DVD, also you have a loops workshop in your lectures.
Could you tell me a little about your work with loops?

I have been a LOOP junkie for a long time now. I LOVE LOOPS so much that I made a DVD with Danny and kranzo.

What do you teach in your loops workshop? The workshop is a little over 1hr and a half. I go over 3 differant versions of The Haunted pack (mine), how to make things float while NOT looking like thread. And so much more.

5) What is your email? If I ever want to make contact with you, ask you something or anything alike, where to should I send emails? (in case you don't want to asnwer that one in public, PM me the answer if you can)

Ok last and final give away.
For a copy of my new effect Time and Space please tell me on my site (and it might be in a video, or just text, or a picture) what effect do I "take to another galaxy"?

Thank you all so much for coming and asking such great questions. Out of all the interviews I have done this had been the most rewarding anf fun.

Wow Justin, sorry about keeping you busy with these questions ;)

Loops. I have liked them for awhile, but never really found anything with them that would truely work for me. I don't necesarilly do "pk" magic all that often. Are there going to be effects in this DVD that might necesarilly work with me?

When performing, do you feel your audience sees your magic as "trickery" or magic. You seem to present it as "magic" (whatever that may be) Which is B-E-A-UTIFAL, by the way.

Thanks again!
